Just five hundred metres from the Klein river which is is ideal for kayaking and there are mountain views and bird trails in the nearby nature reserve. Stanford is a quaint old world town first settled in 1856 by Robert Stanford. The village has been declared a heritage site with many buildings and homes in the Victorian era.
